When I'm not styling, I am teaching. I wanted a platform to have a sense of identity outside of the classroom where I could express myself creatively. This year, I made it my goal to get out of my comfort zone and share parts of my life.
I was inspired to make a blog from influencers I followed, and some of my favorite influencers for fashion started with blogs. I wanted to display my outfits and write about things I care about. Thus, The Chic Southerner was born.
I saw a TikTok one day about a girl who posted about wanting to be more feminine, and I related to her. My style has been a neutral capsule wardrobe, but I want to incorporate more colors and feminine pieces. I have shied away from feminine clothing because I look very young for my age and thought pinks and ruffles would make me look like a little girl. But now, I don’t care what age people think I am, and I wear what makes me feel good.
So, follow along on my journey of creativity and embracing who I am.
