An Honest Nuuly Review
I have been influenced! I got a subscription to Nuuly. If you don’t already know what Nuuly is, it is a clothing rental company where you pay a set amount each month and receive six items of your choice. After a month, you can either return the items and get six more or buy them at a reduced cost. The cost is $98 for every month, but you can get a $20 coupon for your first month. Nuuly is a website that has many popular clothing brands like Free People, Anthropologie, Madewell, and hundreds more. You browse through the options and select a piece you want and the size, and it ships to you in about 3-4 days. If you do the “girl math,” it's like getting six pieces of clothing for $20 each. If you are petite, slender, or plus size, they have many options available. The best thing I liked about the clothes was the amount of XS and XXS. Being on the slender side, I find it very difficult to find clothes my size in stores, so this was a great option. Everything ships in a heavy-duty bag with the return label inside. The whole process was very easy and user-friendly. Now, I will get into what six items I got and my reviews of each.
I got a dress from Anthropologie. It is the Printed Button Down Drop-Waisted Dress in a XXS. I absolutely love this dress. I have always wanted to own something from Anthropologie but could never pay the prices. Now I get to wear this beautiful dress for a month. When I took it out of the bag, it smelled so good. I think they spray their clothes with perfume before shipping them. This dress fits so well, the quality is good, and the color is perfect. I will be buying this dress. It originally retails for $190, but the Nuuly price is $93.10, which is 51% off. Overall, it’s a great dress for multiple occasions.
I got another item from Anthropologie. It is the Henley Peasant Blouse in a XXS. The blue color and floral paisley pattern are great for Spring. It also smells like perfume. I have been looking for a long-sleeved blouse to add to my wardrobe, and this is it. Here is another piece I will be buying from Nuuly. The original retail price is $110, and Nuuly’s price is $82.50, which is 25% off. I love finding pieces I like and fit well.
I got a denim jumpsuit from The Ragged Priest brand. It is the Wide Leg Denim Coveralls in a size 4. This checkered print is so fun and playful. The jumpsuit gives off ‘70s vibes, and I love it. The fit is perfect, and the quality is good. My only concern is that the buttons are hard to fasten. Although this piece is cute, I will return it after a month because I don’t see it as a staple piece I will love for a long time. It retails for $128, and Nuuly has it for $75.23, which is 64% off.
I got a sweater vest from Native Youth. It is the Jacquard Knit Sweater Vest in a size XS. I like the colors of the vest and the abstract floral design. The knitting is a little scratchy but the quality is overall good. I like the vest but will not be buying it because the seasons are changing and I don’t love it that much. It retails for $64 and Nuuly’s price is $56.32 which is 12% off.
I got a blouse from Daniel Rainn. It is the Janis Pleated Peasant Blouse in a size XXS. The blouse is a basic flowy shirt. The blouse runs a little big, so I would recommend sizing down. There is really nothing special to it. I will probably wear it to work with slacks. The quality is good, but I will be returning it. It retails for $98, and Nuuly’s price is $68.59, which is 30% off.
Lastly, I got a pair of jeans from DL1961. It is the Emilie Straight Leg Jeans in size 27. I originally picked out a different pair of jeans, but Nuuly messaged me and said that it was out of stock, and they would send another pair of jeans in the same size. I should have known better than to pick a size 27 because it was too big. My usual size of 25 was out of stock. I am not wearing the jeans in the picture because they are falling off of me. One downfall to Nuuly is that your size is not available because it is currently being rented by someone else. The only thing you could do is save it and wait till it becomes available again. The jeans retail for $209, and Nuuly’s price is $75.23, which is 64% off.
Overall, I loved renting from Nuuly and will continue my subscription. I ended up buying two of the six items and am very happy about the purchases. This is a great way to stay on a budget for clothing every month because it is a set price.
